The Power of Prayer

[UPDATE]
This is late in coming, but I have wonderful news! Last weekend, the KNU was defeated and forced to give up their camp, which means that Steven was able to return safely to Mae La Camp! Mu Gay spoke with him over the phone, and he is more or less unharmed. Steven reported that he stepped on a land mine, but it did not explode. He says it's a miracle! The malaria tests also came back negative! They are both so thankful for your prayers! (Mu Gay was so encouraged when I told her that all of you back home were praying for her family!) I thought there could be no happy ending to this story... Praise God for such a speedy answer to prayer!

Today we also honor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, on her 64th birthday.

"In the Quiet Land, no one can hear
what is silenced by murder
and covered up with fear.
But, despite what is forced, freedom's a sound
that liars can't fake and no shouting can drown."

And on a slightly different note, I want to thank all of you for your comments and e-mails. I'm sorry I haven't been able to respond to each of you individually, but I want you to know that I read them all, and I love hearing from you guys! I will get only busier as my internship progresses, so while I can't promise individual e-mail responses, I will do my best to keep this blog up to date!
